My name is Karina Alos. A wandering island girl born, and raised in San Juan, PR. Once upon a time. While finishing my studies and pursuing acting at Fordham University in New York City. I stumbled upon yoga as a healing tool (emotionally and physically). Years later I decided to become a yoga teacher. That's where the quest began.
I believe you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s crazy world; your personality, your sense of humor, and most importantly, your heart. All of these elements brought me to start Poinciana* : A Learning Bodega. A space to share what I have learned as I navigate my passion for yoga, ecology, traveling, teaching and my (and ours) physical and mental health. What is the main goal for sharing these stories, you ask? Well, stories have always played an important part in my life. Whether it was Jane Eyre, Jane Austen or Moana. The lessons and inspiration words can yield are limitless. If some of the stories in my little bodega help you in any way. Then that is sufficient enough for me to keep sharing them. But writing is also very cathartic for me. In putting down on paper what I have learned I also help myself.
The ultimate goal is to be able to be of help to others who may be searching to add a little magic to their lives. In the form of learning English, Spanish and/or yoga! Join me as the adventure continues and I keep exploring the world, the self and all the magic love can create.
To see what I’ve been up to, browse my site. Learn about my passions, and explore what excites and interests you as well. If you have any questions about my journey as a travel blogger, freelance Yoga, English and Spanish teacher in Poland. Or need some encouragement for your own adventure. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask me (or others) for help.
The magic is real!
*Poinciana or Flamboyan is a beautiful tree you can find all over Puerto Rico. Whose fiery red orange flowers mean realization. The goal of our efforts.
